Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - B.R.M.C
“Love Burns” – 4:05
“Red Eyes and Tears” – 4:00
“Whatever Happened to My Rock ‘n’ Roll (Punk Song)” – 4:38
“Awake” – 6:12
“White Palms” – 4:55
“As Sure as the Sun” – 5:52
“Rifles” – 6:59
“Too Real” – 4:55
“Spread Your Love” – 3:45
“Head Up High” – 5:35
“Salvation” – 6:06
Notes:  Yet another album I feel was just a bit ahead of it’s time and could’ve gone so much further if it had come out about 5-7 years later.  Although BRMC were (and are) very famous, I still think they could have been the leaders of a new post-shoegaze movement if this album had come out a little closer to now rather then when it did, at a time of The Strokes, The White Stripes and The Vines when the press was desperately trying to lump BRMC in with these “New Rock Revolution” bands when in fact they had a lot more ties to Jesus and Mary Chain and Slowdive than to Television and garage rock.  BRMC had good albums later on, actually I think their career would be best served by distilling down all their albums into one or two, but their first is still their best.
For fans of:  The Jesus and Mary Chain, Post punk, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, A Place To Bury Strangers, fuzz, feedback, leather jackets
